Practical Information

The School Office

The office is open daily from 8.30 -13.00.
School visits are by appointment only.

Lesson times

A + B classes start at 8.15 Monday to Friday.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday school ends at 13.00 for A+B classes
On Monday and Friday school ends at 13.15 for A and B classes

Lessons in C, D and E classes are placed between 8.15 and 15.45 at the latest Monday to Friday.

Monday and Friday we have assemblies for the entire school.

Breaks

There is a short break from 9.45 to 10.00.

Lunch break is from 11.30 to 12.15.

There is a short break from 13.45 to 14.00 (14.00-14.15 Monday and Friday) for the students who have late lessons.

All students are expected to bring a healthy packed lunch everyday.

Valuables and mobile phones

Mobile phones must be handed in to the office on arrival at school.

Other valuable items or money should also be taken to the office for security.

Absence due to illness

We ask parents to call the school in the morning if their child is sick. This way we do not have to worry about anything having happened to them on their way to school.

All other absences

Please inform the School Office in case of urgent dentist's or doctor's appointments.

Absence from school outside the school holidays can only be granted if the parents have permission from the Principal.

Transport

Public Transport to the school is good, as the school is close to Ryparken S-train station and Lyngbyvej which has many train and bus connections.

Rules at school

We want our students to be healthy and safe while they are at school.

We want to keep the school clean and equipment and materials should be looked after by the students.
Students are not allowed to leave the school during school hours. Only E-class students with a written permission can leave the school from 11:30-12:00.
Do not wear shoes in the A-corner (with the mattresses).
Caps (and other non-religious head gear) are not allowed in class.
Do not run indoors
Students should not bring roller-skates / scooters/ skateboards etc. to school.
Students should not bring pets to school (unless there is an agreement between the school and the home. We have quite a few persons with allergies!).
Sweets are not allowed in the school (ONLY for birthdays/end-of-terms/goodbye parties you can share with the class in the classroom, not outside).
Birthday parties: Invitation to either everyone in the class / all the girls / all the boys OR no one.
Chewing gum is not allowed in the school.
Smoking is not allowed.
Students are not allowed in the computer room or library without a teacher.
All digital communication (including on social medias) between staff and students at Bjørn´s International School must be of a technical/professional nature. The provision applies as regards to both present and former students under the age of 18 years.
